Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday held a series of pre-budget meetings with various government departments to review sectoral priorities, assess public needs and align departmental proposals with the overall development goals of the Union Territory.

During the consultations, the Chief Minister emphasised the need for people-centric initiatives, efficient service delivery and inclusive growth across Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that budgetary planning should focus on addressing grassroots concerns and improving the quality of governance and public services.

The meetings were aimed at taking stock of ongoing programmes and identifying key areas requiring focused intervention in the forthcoming budget. Departments were asked to ensure that their proposals are outcome-oriented and aligned with the broader vision of balanced and sustainable development.

The pre-budget consultations are part of an established practice undertaken ahead of the commencement of the budget session of the Legislative Assembly, providing an opportunity for the government to fine-tune its priorities before finalising the budget proposals.
