J&K Allocated ₹3,464 Cr Under 14th FC for Rural Local Bodies

New Delhi, Dec 9: The Union Government has released Finance Commission grants to Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) for FY 2024–25 and 2025–26. As per official data, Jammu & Kashmir received an allocation of ₹3,463.73 crore under the 14th Finance Commission, with ₹1,857.93 crore released during the award period from 2015–16 to 2019–20.

The allocations are based on Grant Transfer Certificates (GTCs) submitted by States/UTs and compliance with eligibility conditions set out in the Finance Ministry’s guidelines dated 14 July 2021.

J&K Allocations Under the 14th Finance Commission (2015–16 to 2019–20)

  • Total Allocation: ₹3,463.73 crore

  • Total Release: ₹1,857.93 crore

Year-wise allocation vs release for Jammu & Kashmir:

  • 2015–16: ₹373.96 cr allocated / ₹367.72 cr released

  • 2016–17: ₹585.73 cr allocated / ₹474.41 cr released

  • 2017–18: ₹675.15 cr allocated / ₹470.97 cr released

  • 2018–19: ₹779.40 cr allocated / ₹544.83 cr released

  • 2019–20: ₹1,049.49 cr allocated / no release recorded

15th Finance Commission Figures for J&K Not Provided

While the Centre released updated year-wise allocations and releases for the 15th Finance Commission (2020–21 to 2025–26) for all listed States, Jammu & Kashmir does not appear in the XV Finance Commission annexure, and therefore no allocation or release figures are available for the UT in this dataset.

The Centre also clarified that it does not maintain data on the number of families or individuals benefitting directly from projects funded through Finance Commission grants.
