CM Meets Union Minister, Seeks Early Release of JJM Funds for J&K

New Delhi | Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday held a meeting with Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil to review the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Union Territory and to discuss the early release of pending central funds.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for expediting the release of outstanding funds to clear work-done claims and revive several stalled JJM schemes in Jammu and Kashmir, many of which are nearing completion. He said timely financial support would help accelerate progress and ensure continuity in the implementation of drinking water projects across rural areas.

Omar Abdullah assured the Union Minister that the J&K government would ensure timely execution of works, close monitoring of projects and achievement of targets under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving the goal of Har Ghar Jal for rural households in the Union Territory with continued support from the Centre.

Union Minister of State Javed Rana was also present during the meeting.
