BUDGAM: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has established a significant lead in the Budgam by-election, pulling ahead of the National Conference (NC) by 4,707 votes after 12 rounds of counting, election officials said.

According to the latest figures, the PDP has secured 18,851 votes, while the NC stands at 14,144 votes as the counting process continues.

Officials said the final rounds will determine whether the PDP can convert its consistent lead into a decisive victory in this closely watched constituency. The Budgam by-poll has drawn considerable attention due to its potential impact on political dynamics in central Kashmir.
