Booth bookings open for AVGC-XR and media-tech innovators under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative

New Delhi: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has opened booth bookings for WaveX booths — the exclusive startup showcase zone at WAVES Bazaar, to be held during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Goa from November 20 to 24.

Organised under the Government of India’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, the exhibition aims to spotlight emerging startups in the AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) and media-tech sectors. The platform will connect Indian innovators with global film, media, and entertainment industry leaders, offering them visibility, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

Located near the Film Bazaar, the central business and networking hub of IFFI, the WAVES Bazaar will host entrepreneurs, filmmakers, producers, investors, and technology professionals from across the world.

Each booth at the startup pavilion is being offered at a nominal cost of ₹30,000 on a sharing basis. Participating startups will receive:

  • Two delegate passes

  • Lunch and high tea

  • Evening networking opportunities

  • Direct visibility among international film, media, and technology professionals

Registrations can be made through wavex.wavesbazaar.com, with stall allotments on a first-come, first-served basis. For queries, startups can contact [email protected].

Speaking about the initiative, MIB officials said the WaveX pavilion aligns with the government’s broader vision of promoting creative entrepreneurship and building a robust startup ecosystem in India’s digital and entertainment sectors.

Now in its 56th edition, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) remains one of Asia’s most prestigious film festivals. Since its inception in 1952, it has served as a global platform for filmmakers, artists, and innovators, celebrating excellence in cinema and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.

The WaveX initiative, launched by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, acts as a national accelerator and incubator for startups in the AVGC-XR and media-tech domains. Through partnerships with academia, industry, and incubators, WaveX supports creative entrepreneurs in scaling their ventures and contributing to India’s expanding creative economy.
