New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday welcomed India’s robust economic performance after official data showed the country registered 8.2% GDP growth in the second quarter of the 2025–26 financial year. The figures, released earlier in the day, indicate continued strength in domestic activity and the impact of recent policy reforms.
In his response, the Prime Minister said the latest numbers highlight the effectiveness of the government’s pro-growth policies as well as the hard work and enterprise of citizens. He added that the government will continue pushing reforms to ensure that the benefits of economic expansion reach all sections of society.
In a post on X, Mr. Modi said the Q2 performance was “very encouraging,” adding: “It reflects the impact of our pro-growth policies and reforms. It also reflects the hard work and enterprise of our people. Our government will continue to advance reforms and strengthen ease of living for every citizen.”
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to sustaining high growth and improving the everyday life of citizens through better services and governance.
