Jammu: The Jammu & Kashmir State Taxes Department (JKSTD) on Thursday organized a day-long orientation workshop on the GST Prime Analytics Tool and e-Way Portal for departmental officers at the Excise and Taxation Complex, Jammu.
The workshop aimed to enhance officers’ understanding of data-driven tax administration and promote the use of advanced digital platforms for efficient GST monitoring and compliance.
The session was graced by P. V. Bhat, Scientific Director, e-Way Bill and GST Prime Portal, who delivered a detailed presentation on the advanced features, analytics capabilities, and operational benefits of the GST Prime and e-Way systems. He highlighted how the new tools are designed to improve transparency, streamline compliance, and strengthen enforcement mechanisms across the tax network.
During the interactive session, Bhat addressed several technical and procedural queries from officers, providing practical insights into using the platforms for real-time data assessment and policy planning.
The event was presided over by Commissioner, State Taxes Department, P. K. Bhat, who commended the initiative and lauded both the resource person and participants for their active engagement. He emphasized that digital integration is key to improving efficiency and ensuring better compliance outcomes.
In her welcome address, Additional Commissioner, State Taxes (Jammu), Namrita Dogra underscored the department’s commitment to digital transformation and capacity building, noting that the adoption of analytical tools would help optimize tax governance and strengthen decision-making.
All Deputy Commissioners of the Enforcement Wing, Assistant Commissioners, and State Taxes Officers (STOs) from both divisions participated, with officers from outstation locations joining through virtual mode, ensuring wide participation and inclusivity.
The workshop marks a significant stride in modernizing the tax administration ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, empowering officers with advanced analytical tools to ensure effective GST compliance and enforcement across the region.
