Srinagar, Nov 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club (JKHC) has expressed profound grief over the devastating accidental explosion at Nowgam Police Station, which claimed at least nine lives and left many others injured during the handling of seized explosives.
In a statement, Mushtaq Chaya, Chairman of JKHC, said the tragedy has deeply shaken the entire Kashmir community. “We mourn the loss of dedicated police, forensic and civil personnel. Our heartfelt condolences go out to their families, friends, and all those grieving this irreparable loss,” he said.
Chaya called for “a thorough and transparent investigation” into the circumstances that led to the blast, stressing that accountability must be ensured and safety protocols strengthened to prevent such incidents in the future.
He urged the administration to extend full support to the bereaved families and ensure the best possible medical assistance for all those injured.
The Hoteliers Club prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and expressed solidarity with every family affected by the tragedy.
