KCCI elections register a record voter turnout of 81.86%. Results to be out shortly.

Srinagar: The elections for the Executive Committee of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) were held today registering a record voter turnout of 81.86%.

Informed sources told Ziraat Times that out of 695 eligible members, 570 cast their votes, marking one of the highest participation rates in recent KCCI election history. The polling process was jointly supervised by the Deputy Commissioner’s election officials and the KCCI-appointed 5-member Election Commission, along with a 7-member polling and counting committee.

Two main groups contested the polls — the ‘HOPE 21’ panel, which fielded candidates for all 21 Executive Committee seats, and the group led by Sheikh Feroz, which fielded 8 candidates. One independent candidate also contested.

The formal election of office bearers is scheduled for October 7, 2025, during the 91st adjourned Annual General Meeting to be held at Hotel Radisson, Maulana Azad Road, Srinagar.

As of filing this report, the vote counting had been completed and results were expected to be announced soon.
