Srinagar: In a startling disclosure, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has revealed that Nasir Alam Wani has not been officially appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister, despite months of ‘pending approvals’.
Speaking in the upcoming episode of Kashmir Podcast with journalist Ahmed Ali Fayyaz — scheduled for release on Saturday, October 4, on TALKISTAN/YouTube — Omar Abdullah said the appointment file for Mr Wani had been “tossed from one office to another for the past 10 months” without ever receiving approval from the competent authority.
Analysts say that this revelation would suggest that Mr Wani currently holds no protocol status or government pay or accommodation.
“According to me, Mr. Wani neither has a government office, nor accommodation, nor any salary. He is working voluntarily,” the Chief Minister is reported as saying.
The revelation is expected to make waves when the podcast episode airs this weekend.
