Srinagar, Oct 6: The Javed Tenga–Faiz Bakshi-led Hope Group registered a spectacular victory in the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) elections on Monday, winning 20 out of 21 Executive Committee seats in a resounding mandate from the business community.
According to the initial information shared with Ziraat Times, Javed Tenga emerged as the top scorer with 464 votes. The election, held under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, saw an impressive voter turnout of 81.86%, with 570 out of 695 eligible members casting their votes.
The Hope Group had campaigned on promises of transparency, institutional strengthening, and renewed focus on tourism, trade, and handicrafts revival.
The newly elected Executive Committee is expected to formally elect its office bearers — including the President and Secretary General — at the 91st adjourned Annual General Meeting scheduled for October 7 at Hotel Radisson, Srinagar.
