CII J&K Hosts Healthcare Conclave 2025 in Srinagar

Focus on Policy, Governance, and Technological Innovation in Healthcare

Srinagar: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday organized the second edition of the CII J&K Healthcare Conclave 2025 in Srinagar, bringing together key stakeholders from government, medical institutions, and the private sector to deliberate on policy, governance, and technology in the healthcare sector.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, who served as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Salman Sagar, Hon’ble MLA, was the Guest of Honour.

In his address, Mr. Wani reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across the Union Territory.

“Healthcare remains a top priority for us. In the coming time, an ambulance will be available at just one call, ensuring timely medical assistance to all citizens,”
he said, commending CII for creating a collaborative platform for experts and policymakers.

Mr. Salman Sagar underscored the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors, stating that accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare must remain the collective goal.

“Such platforms create valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing and joint action,” he added.

Earlier, Mr. Iqram Ali Shafiee, Vice Chairman, CII J&K UT Council and Managing Director, Shafiee Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., noted that the region’s healthcare ecosystem is evolving rapidly.

“It is essential to align our policy framework and infrastructure with national and global standards,” he said, emphasizing CII’s role as a bridge between industry and government.
Mr. Shafiee also moderated a session on Medical Education – Ethical Concerns and Professionalism in Clinical Practice, which featured discussions among academicians and practitioners on research, ethics, and professional training.

The conclave featured thematic sessions on Healthcare Policy and Governance, Ethical Concerns in Medical Education, New Regulatory Frameworks, and Emerging Technologies in Service Delivery.

Prominent speakers included Mr. Sandeep Mengi, Convener, CII J&K Healthcare Panel; Dr. Rubeena Shaheen, Medical Superintendent, Super Speciality Hospital Srinagar; Prof. (Dr.) S. Muhammad Salim Khan, President, J&K Medical Council; Dr. Murtaza Habib, Director, Paras Hospital Srinagar; Ms. Safeena Beigh; Mr. Sajad Lone, Co-Convener, CII J&K Healthcare Panel; Mr. Abdur Rashid Shah, Mr. Sanaan Tariq Gojwari, and Mr. Zaid Dalal. The proceedings were conducted by Mr. Khurshid Dar, Director, CII J&K.

The discussions highlighted the need for stronger healthcare infrastructure, technology-driven innovation, and public-private partnerships to improve access and quality of healthcare across Jammu and Kashmir. The event witnessed active participation from medical professionals, academicians, policymakers, and industry representatives.
