Budgam: As part of his ongoing public outreach programme, MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar, on Sunday visited Alamdar Colony Gopalpora where he interacted with local residents and assured them that their long-pending demand for a proper drainage system would be taken up on priority.
Dar was invited by the Welfare Committee of Iqbal Lane Alamdar Bagh Colony Gopalpora, which briefed him about frequent waterlogging in the locality. The MLA promised to take up the matter with the Ministers for Horticulture and Irrigation for an early redress. He also assured that all colony roads would be blacktopped and potholes fixed in the coming weeks.
On the occasion, Welfare Committee President Abdul Rashid Sofi and General Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat presented a memorandum (Sipasnama) to the MLA. Several prominent residents, including Abdul Rashid Baba, Mohammad Rafiq Khan, Syed Arshad, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Dr Mushtaq Khan and Farooq Ahmad Bepari, were present during the interaction.
Local social activist and resident, Dr Raja Muzaffar, also apprised the MLA about the hardships faced by the people due to inadequate drainage. He suggested that the legislator meet concerned ministers and senior officials to ensure that a proper system is put in place at Alamdar Bagh Colony Gopalpora, Chadoora.
