Srinagar: A devastating landslide in Mahore area in Reasi and a cloudburst in Rajgarh tehsil in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district around 12:30 AM today have left at least 10 people dead and several missing.

In Ramban, the cloud burst claimed at least three lives, leaving five others missing, according to officials. The sudden deluge triggered flash floods in the remote village of Drubla Natna, sweeping away two houses and a school building, and causing significant damage to property and infrastructure. Rescue operations are in full swing, with teams from the district administration, police, and disaster response forces deployed to locate the missing individuals.

“Three bodies have been recovered so far, and efforts are ongoing to trace the remaining missing persons,” a police official stated.

In Mahore, a landslide is said to have been triggered by heavy rainfall in the area causing extensive damage. More details are awaited.

The Ramban cloudburst adds to a series of rain-related disasters in Jammu & Kashmir, with heavy rainfall causing widespread flooding and landslides across the region.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant as rescue and relief efforts continue.
