Srinagar: As part of its continued efforts to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir, Kashmir Angel Network (KAN) hosted yet another impactful mentorship session with Prof. Sunil Handa, renowned entrepreneur and educator from IIM Ahmedabad. Held on July 14 and 15 at KAN’s corporate office in Rajbagh, Srinagar, the intensive one-on-one mentorship sessions marked the sixth time Prof. Handa has mentored Kashmir-based startups under the KAN banner.
While Mentor Talks is KAN’s weekly mentorship initiative featuring a range of industry experts—primarily from within the region—Prof. Handa’s visit marked a special engagement within this series. This was the sixth time he has mentored Kashmir-based startups through a program facilitated by KAN, offering highly personalized guidance to early-stage founders across sectors.
The participating startups included FitFruits Foods Pvt. Ltd. led by Faizan Wani, Oven Stories by Muhammad Huzaif, Baraqah Fashion by Mohd Ahtisham and Furqan Bazaz, Auto GTG Services by Ubaid Altaf, Khaleel Publications by Zahoor Ahmad, EITE Institute of Placement and Training by Iqra Fayaz, Hackxcel Training & Consultancy by Izhan, and CampusNest247 by Amir Ganai, among others.
Founders described the sessions as both strategic and empowering. “Prof. Handa’s mentorship helped us remove clutter from our business thinking,” said one participant. “His guidance brought fresh clarity and momentum to our work,” noted another.
KAN’s Mentor Talks platform continues to serve as a valuable channel for knowledge-sharing, with weekly mentorships now underway across a variety of business domains. Prof. Handa’s participation stands out as a special chapter in this growing movement—bringing national expertise directly to grassroots innovation in Kashmir.
