Srinagar: Altaf Bukhari, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party, on Tuesday called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the mysterious death of Zubair Ahmad, a young man from Sehyar Aali Kadal, Srinagar, whose body was recently found in Delhi.
“It is evident beyond a doubt that Zubair Ahmad has died under mysterious circumstances in Delhi,” Bukhari said in a public statement, urging the J&K administration to intervene and coordinate with authorities in Delhi to uncover the truth.
The statement came amid growing concern and outrage over the incident, particularly after relatives of the deceased raised serious allegations regarding the circumstances of Zubair’s death. Bukhari said these allegations must be “taken seriously” and that the family “deserves justice and answers.”
Calling the death a “heartbreaking tragedy”, Bukhari extended his condolences to the bereaved family, noting that Zubair was not only their beloved son but also the sole breadwinner of the household.
“This incident warrants an immediate and transparent probe. The truth must come out, and any foul play, if found, must be dealt with according to the law,” Bukhari added.
As of now, there has been no official comment from the Delhi Police regarding the circumstances of Zubair Ahmad’s death. The J&K administration has also not made a public statement yet.
