Sumbal Market fire ravages 18 businesses; KTMF visits affected site

Sumbal: Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) has expressed profound grief and concern over the tragic midnight blaze that engulfed 18 shops and four residential houses in Sumbal, causing immense loss to the affected traders and families.
In a show of solidarity, a delegation from KTMF led by its President Mohammad Yaseen Khan visited Sumbal to assess the extent of the damage firsthand and to extend moral support to the victims. Khan was accompanied by Bashir Ahmad Rather, Javaid Iqbal Bujja, Rafiq Ahmad Zargar and Qazi Tauseef.

Khan said, “KTMF stands firmly with the affected shopkeepers and residents during this difficult time. We call upon the district and divisional administration to take immediate steps to provide adequate relief and compensation to those affected. It is imperative that the administration conducts a thorough assessment and ensures timely rehabilitation of the victims to help them rebuild their lives and livelihoods”.

President Traders Federation Sumbal Nazir Ahmad Reshie briefed Khan about the victims who have suffered irreparable losses. Reshie said, it is our collective responsibility to stand with them during this difficult time. He asked President KTMF to urge the government to expedite relief efforts and provide compensation so that these traders can start rebuilding their lives.
