President Trump announces India,  Pakistan agreed on immediate ceasefire

In a dramatic diplomatic breakthrough, India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire after a tense period of rising hostilities. The announcement was made by former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, who claimed credit for mediating the late-night negotiations that led to the agreement.

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE,” Trump stated in a social media post, calling it a triumph of “Common Sense and Great Intelligence.”

The development comes after weeks of heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with India vowing to treat any future terrorist attacks as acts of war. Pakistan, for its part, had also expressed willingness to de-escalate, provided India refrained from further military action.

The ceasefire is being widely welcomed by peace advocates and civilians on both sides of the border, particularly in the conflict-weary  Jammu & Kashmir. For decades, the region has borne the brunt of frequent skirmishes and military escalations.

The last few days left a trail of death and destruction in Kashmir’s borders areas of Poonch, Uri, Kupwara and other areas.

As of now, both New Delhi and Islamabad have yet to issue detailed official statements confirming the terms or duration of the ceasefire. However, the tone of Trump’s statement suggests broad-based support for the peace initiative at the highest diplomatic levels.

Observers now hope this ceasefire will pave the way for constructive engagement, economic cooperation, and improved regional stability in South Asia.
