Budgam: The Tosamaidan Development Forum (TDF) has hailed the visit of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akhshay Labroo, who inspected the ongoing road construction project leading to Tosamaidan, one of the region’s most scenic and promising emerging tourism destinations.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the Chief Spokesperson of TDF, Sheikh Maqbool, described the visit as a “significant step forward” in the joint efforts toward enhancing local infrastructure and boosting sustainable tourism in the area. “This road project will not only improve connectivity but also unlock opportunities for economic growth, cultural exchange, and community development,” he said.

The road, which connects Khag with the expansive Tosamaidan meadows, is seen as a vital infrastructure link for improving accessibility to the region’s natural treasures. Sheikh Maqbool commended the Deputy Commissioner’s proactive approach and commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure development in a timely and transparent manner.

Manzoor Ahmad, Chairman of the Tosamaidan Development Forum, also expressed gratitude on behalf of the local community. “We warmly welcome the Deputy Commissioner’s visit. His presence and engagement reflect the administration’s dedication to progress, transparency, and meaningful public service,” he said. Ahmad added that the project, once completed, will be transformative for local livelihoods, with tourism-driven socio-economic benefits reaching a wide section of the community.

The Tosamaidan Development Forum reiterated its commitment to continue working in close coordination with the district administration to realize the full potential of this critical project. The Forum also urged further attention to complementary development initiatives, including eco-friendly tourism infrastructure, waste management, and cultural preservation in the region.

The Deputy Commissioner’s visit has renewed optimism among local stakeholders, who see Tosamaidan as an untapped gem in J&K’s tourism landscape.
