Rotary Clubs of Kashmir and Bangalore Join Hands for Environemnt, Health, Education Projects

Srinagar: The Rotary Club of Kashmir and the Rotary Club of Bangalore held a flag exchange ceremony, as part of their commitment to working jointly on impactful initiatives in healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.

The ceremonial exchange, a longstanding Rotary tradition signifying friendship and cooperation, was attended by leading members from both clubs. Representing the Rotary Club of Kashmir were Secretary Touseef Ahmed, and past presidents Amit Wanchoo and Dost Dar. The event served as a platform for detailed discussions on launching free medical camps across underserved regions, with a focus on providing essential health services to marginalized communities.

Speaking at the event, Touseef Ahmed underscored the importance of the collaboration, stating, “This partnership marks a meaningful step toward addressing some of the most pressing health and environmental issues in our region. By organizing medical camps and educational programs, we aim to create a long-lasting impact that uplifts lives.”

In addition to healthcare, the two Rotary clubs agreed to jointly pursue environmental conservation efforts, including tree plantation drives, awareness campaigns, and promotion of sustainable practices. Educational outreach and youth empowerment will also be key focus areas in the joint action plan.

The partnership aligns with Rotary International’s global mission of ‘Service Above Self’, and its enduring commitment to peace, development, and community service. With over 1.2 million members worldwide, Rotary clubs across the globe work together on projects that address real needs in health, literacy, clean water, and the environment.

This new alliance between the Rotary Clubs of Kashmir and Bangalore exemplifies Rotary’s belief in the power of collective action and regional cooperation to foster meaningful change.
