J&K Hoteliers Club condemns Pahalgam terror attack, calls it a ‘despicable act of cowardice’

Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir Hoteliers Club (JKHC) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that targeted innocent civilians, calling it a “heinous and cowardly act” that has deeply shaken the hospitality sector of the Union Territory.

Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya, Chairman of JKHC, along with hoteliers from prominent tourist destinations including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg, expressed anguish and grief over the attack, which claimed multiple lives and left others injured.

In an official statement issued to Ziraat Times, JKHC conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and solidarity with those injured. “This is absolutely unacceptable,” said Tariq Ghani, Secretary General of JKHC. “Such barbarity stands in stark contrast to the values of peace and hospitality that define the spirit of Jammu & Kashmir.”

The club emphasized that for decades, the people of J&K have extended warmth and safety to tourists from around the world. “This attack aims to rupture that legacy, but we will not allow it to succeed,” the statement said.

Reaffirming its commitment to the safety of all visitors, JKHC assured that it will extend full assistance to affected families and continue working with authorities to safeguard the interests of tourists.
