Govt orders transfers of IPS, JKPS officers in J&K

Srinagar: In a major reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department on Thursday ordered the transfer and posting of several IPS and JKPS officers, across the Union Territory.

The transfer order, issued by the Home Department,  includes several high-level changes.

Among the prominent IPS officers shifted is Uttam Chand (IPS-2002), who has been posted as IGP (Police Operations & Services) at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) against an available vacancy.

Sarah Rizvi (IPS-2008), formerly DIG IR Jammu, has been transferred and posted as DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, replacing Rayees Mohammad Bhat.

Shiekh Junaid Mehmood (IPS-2009), who was awaiting a posting, has now been appointed DIG IR Kashmir against an available vacancy, and Umesh Kumar (IPS-2009) moves from DIG Home Guards Jammu to DIG Training PHQ, against an available vacancy.

Rayees Mohammad Bhat (IPS-2010) has been appointed DIG CID Kashmir, against an available vacancy, while Jatinder Singh Johar (IPS-2012), who was AIG Crime & Complaints, PHQ, has taken charge as I/c Director, Police Telecommunication, against an available vacancy.

Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (IPS-2013), who was Div. Commandant, Home Guards Jammu, will now serve as SO to IGP Technical Services, against an available vacancy, and Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IPS-2013), previously Commandant 3rd Bn IR, has been posted as SSP Traffic City Srinagar vice Muzaffar Ahmad Shah.

Ranjit Singh Sambyal (IPS-2013), who was SSP Security VIP Tech, has been transferred as SSP Tech CID HQ. Amritpal Singh (IPS-2014) has been appointed Principal PTTI Vijaypur, against an available vacancy.

In other key postings, G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy (IPS-2014), previously SSP Anantnag, takes over as SSP Srinagar, against available vacancy, while Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria (IPS-2014) has been appointed Commandant 1st Border Bn JKAP vice Ashok Kumar Sharma.

Tanushree (IPS-2017), who served with SP SIA Kashmir, has been appointed SP SIA HQ, against an available vacancy, and Bisma Qazi (IPS-2017) is now Commandant, 2nd Woman Bn JKAP, against available vacancy.

Among JKPS officers, several district-level SSPs and commandants have been shifted. Amit Gupta (JKPS-2001) has been appointed SSP HQ CID vice Peerzada Naveed, while Mohd Majid Malik (JKPS-2001) has taken over as SSP (SS) CID HQ vice Randhir Singh.

Javid Iqbal (JKPS-2001) has been posted as Commandant 6th Bn JKAP, against available vacancy, and Amarjit Singh (JKPS-2001) is now SO to ADGP CID vice Amit Gupta.

Mohd Yousuf (JKPS-2001) is SSP Finger Print Bureau, against available vacancy, and Khalil Ahmad (JKPS-2001) is SSP Ganderbal vice Ragav S.

Liaqat Ali (JKPS-2001) is SO to Commandant General, Home Guard/Civil Defence/SDRF vice Atul Sharma, and Rakesh Kumar (JKPS-2001) is SO to IGP Security, against available vacancy.

Mohd Rashid Bhat (JKPS-2001) is SO To IGP Traffic J&K, against available vacancy, and Jameel Ahmad (JKPS-2001) is Principal STC Sheeri vice Mohd Majid Malik.
