Sewa Bharti Kashmir urges LG Sinha to open more drug de-addiction facilities; lauds J&K Police’s role


Srinagar: The Core Group of the Kashmir Zone of Sewa Bharti convened today in Srinagar to discuss the prevailing socio-political issues in Jammu & Kashmir. Chaired by  Farooq Ahmad Dar, with contributions from Manzoor Ahmad Dar and Javid Junaid, the meeting focused on critical challenges facing the UT today.

The Core Group commended the tireless efforts of the Jammu &  Kashmir Police in combating the growing menace of drug abuse. Their decisive actions against drug mafias and peddlers across the Kashmir Valley have been pivotal in protecting the region’s youth and ensuring public safety. Their commitment deserves widespread appreciation, Sewa Bharti said in a statement to Ziraat Times.

The Core Group has also directed its members to actively participate in the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. To promote national pride and unity, they encourage the community to hoist the Tricolor on rooftops and along streets. This initiative is aimed at fostering a deep sense of patriotism and togetherness.

Additionally, the Sewa Bharti leadership strongly urges tte Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to prioritize the establishment of additional drug de-addiction centers in the Valley. These centers are urgently needed to provide effective rehabilitation for those affected by substance abuse and to strengthen the region’s social fabric.
