Srinagar: A large number of Sikh devotees gathered at the historic Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi in Rainawari on Monday to observe the Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh, the revered tenth Sikh Guru.

The Gurudwara reverberated with prayers and hymns as devotees celebrated the birth anniversary of the Guru with spiritual fervour.

The day was marked by special prayer services, Kirtan (religious hymns), and the traditional langar (community meal) offered to all visitors.

On this occasion, one of the devotees, Harpreet Singh said, “The great message of Guru Gobind Singh Ji motivates us toward life of valour, humbleness and service. Such a message seems relevant in present times.”

Kuldeep Kaur, another devotee, said the celebration of Prakash Parv at Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi is a proud moment for the Sikh community in Kashmir. It is a day of reflection and devotion, she remarked.

The management committee of the Gurudwara appreciated the participation of devotees from different parts of the valley. The authorities had made proper arrangements for the smooth flow of devotees. Police personnel were deployed there to maintain law & order and security. —(KNO)
