Srinagar: In a shocking revelation, India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has been ranked among the worst airlines globally in the 2024 AirHelp Score report, published on Tuesday. The annual analysis evaluates airlines based on customer service, on-time performance, claim processing, and overall passenger satisfaction. IndiGo was placed 103rd among 109 airlines, making it one of the lowest-rated carriers in the world.
The bottom 10 airlines included Sky Express (100th), Air Mauritius (101st), Tarom (102nd), and Pegasus Airlines (104th). At the very bottom of the list was Tunisair, ranked 109th.
Meanwhile, the top 10 airlines in the world displayed a sharp contrast in quality and reliability. Brussels Airlines secured the top spot, followed by Qatar Airways and United Airlines. Other notable names in the top 10 included American Airlines (4th), Austrian Airlines (6th), and regional standout Air Arabia (8th), which also reflects well on the broader Middle Eastern aviation landscape.
Customers believe IndiGo’s ranking raises concerns as the airline is a dominant player in India’s aviation sector, known for its extensive domestic network and low-cost operations. Despite its market share, complaints about delayed flights, customer service issues, and difficulties in claim processing appear to have contributed to its dismal performance.
