SKIMS Srinagar and Kashmir’s business group to collaborate for improving J&K’s healthcare under CSR

Srinagar: The newly-appointed Director of the Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS), Dr. Ashraf Ganaie, interacted with members of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) Kashmir with the two sides discussing collaboration between the medical sector and the business community in the region.

During the session, PHDCCI Chairman  Vicky Shaw extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ganaie on his appointment as Director of SKIMS. He emphasized Dr. Ganaie’s exceptional qualifications, stating, “Notably, Dr. Ashraf Ganaie posses exceptional  knowledge and expertise in the field of endocrinology. His journey has been marked by dedication and resilience.”

Dr. Ganaie shared insights from his extensive career, including his remarkable tenure at the All-India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead SKIMS and emphasized his unwavering commitment to serving patients.

In his address, Dr. Ganaie emphasised on the necessity for proactive involvement from society and the business fraternity to prioritize SKIMS as a leading medical institution. He urged PHDCCI members to support initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare facilities, a PHDCCI statement issued to Ziraat Times said.

To this end, it was mutually agreed that PHDCCI members would collaborate with the administration under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Together, they aim to maintain and improve various facilities at SKIMS, ensuring that both the community’s health needs and the advancements of the institute are met.
