Health facilities not up to the mark in J&K: Health Minister

Says will make every effort to enhance facilities

Srinagar: The Health and Education Minister, Sakina Itoo on Thursday acknowledged the gaps in the healthcare facilities across the region and vowed to enhance the health infrastructure to meet public expectations.

Speaking at the 42nd annual day of SKIMS, Ms Itoo  emphasized the government’s commitment towards making healthcare accessible and efficient for all.

Addressing concerns about inadequate health services in rural and remote areas, the Minister stated, “Healthcare facilities in J&K are not up to the mark. Many regions still face challenges in accessing basic medical services.”

“The government is aware of these issues and every effort will be made to bridge the gap,” she said, adding that the people of J&K still have to visit outside J&K for treatment and will take every possible effort to enhance the health facilities in J&K.

She said the government is going to look into the demands of the SKIMS administration and every possible effort will be made to take institute to the new heights. —(KNO)
