Srinagar: An Australian model-master chef, Sarah Toodh, presently on a visit to Jammu & Kashmir, has shared her blissful moments in Srinagar and praised Kashmir’s cuisine and beauty.

Toodh, who is an Australian celebrity chef, model, restaurateur, and cookbook author, earned first  recognition after appearing on MasterChef Australia in 2014, shared multiple posts on her Instagram account, showcasing her love for Kashmiri cuisine, which captured hearts across the globe.

In her first video, posted four days ago, Toodh recounts her first experience with the beloved Kashmiri dish, Rista.

“When I first tried this Kashmiri delicacy, I was hooked,” she shared in the video caption. “Tender, melt-in-your-mouth meatballs in a vibrant saffron-infused red gravy—it’s rich, aromatic, and absolutely unforgettable,” she wrote.

Pertinently, Sarah’s passion for the dish was evident as she spoke of how it was “love at first bite” and how she been dreaming of it ever since. “Let’s just say one plate wasn’t enough—seconds were mandatory!” she was seen saying while laughing in video.

Reader comments on her post generated an interesting discussion –  Sarah, you’ve captured the essence of Rista perfectly! It’s truly a dish that stays with you long after the meal. “I also had Rista, and I can’t agree more. It is a taste of Kashmir you can’t forget!

So glad you’re enjoying the local flavors, Sarah, says  comment another.

In another post, Sarah recounts a truly special moment in Srinagar, a cooking session on the beautiful Dal Lake. She wrote – Kashmir, I’m back, and what a way to kick off my trip! “A quick cooking session and selling mounji gaadh fish pakodas with a vendor on the beautiful Dal Lake—talk about a warm welcome!” she wrote.

Sarah was invited to try her hand at selling fish pakodas, fresh and crispy, made right there at the lake. She also wrote she captured the energy of the moment, sharing how much she loved the “smiles, the incredible flavors, and the warmth of the people.” KNO
