Srinagar (ZT News Network): The Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union has expressed its gratitude to the Traffic Police Department for their recent efforts to improve road safety and discipline in the region.
The union which is the Apex Body of all Fruit Growers Association of the Valley viz Srinagar, Baramulla, Handwara, Chari-e-Sharif, Shopian, Kulgam, Anatnage, Jablipora, Pachahar Zazan Ganderbal, and Members of The New Kashmir Fruit Association commended top officials including IGP Traffic M. Suleman Choudhary, DIG Traffic Dr. Ajeet Singh, and several SSPs for their proactive approach in launching a comprehensive drive to check driving licenses, promote road safety awareness, and address violations, particularly involving minors.
The timely deployment of personnel, the efficient coordination during peak hours, and the introduction of innovative strategies such as better signal timing, increased patrolling, or public awareness campaigns reflect traffic department’s commitment to creating a safer and more organized and road environment, Bashir Ahmad Basheer, Chairman Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union and President of the New Kashmir Fruit Association said in a statement to Ziraat Times.
The union highlighted the positive impact of the initiative, which included better signal timing, increased patrolling, and public awareness campaigns. Key achievements include strengthened driver accountability, which have included rigorous checks which has reduced unlicensed driving, the union said.
Protection of minors has been well promted through targeted actions that have helped to prevent minors from driving, the union further said.
The management of Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union and the Management of the New Kashmir Fruit Association are, however, of the suggestion that there is requirement of erection of bus stops in entire city which will help lifting of passengers and their dropping strictly at particular places.
