
Srinagar, Oct 20: The highly anticipated Kashmir International Marathon 2024 saw an outstanding display of endurance and athletic prowess as the top 10 winners crossed the finish line in a fiercely contested race. Athletes from across the country and beyond competed in this prestigious event, which attracted thousands of spectators and participants.
The marathon was won by Emmanuel Sikuku Ndiwa, who clinched the top spot with a remarkable time of 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 7 seconds. Emmanuel’s performance was closely followed by Hammington Kimaiyo Cherop, who finished just 6 seconds behind at 2:15:13, securing the second position. The third place went to Mwangi Simon Maina, with a time of 2:15:22, making it a tightly fought competition between the top three runners.
The fourth position was claimed by Anderson Saitoti Serioi, clocking in at 2:17:35, while Anish Thapa Magar took the fifth spot with a finish time of 2:20:39. Both runners demonstrated incredible stamina and perseverance to secure their positions in the top five.
Sher Singh came in sixth with a time of 2:23:22, followed by Man Singh, who completed the race in 2:25:04, placing him seventh. Their strong finishes were met with loud applause from the crowd, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship that the event is known for.
Rounding out the top 10 were Changdev Late, who finished in 2:28:37 and took the eighth position, followed by Yogesh Kumar Sharma in ninth place with a time of 2:29:18, and Kiprop Tonui, who completed the marathon in 2:30:11, securing the tenth spot.
