Srinagar, Oct 31: The Kashmir Handicraft Foundation—an organization and forum dedicated to the welfare of handicrafts and artisans—warmly welcomes the 60th Year Celebration of the World Craft City, hosted by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, to be held in Srinagar at the end of November.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, the foundation said, “We take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Department of Handicrafts for its dedication and commitment to bringing this prestigious and momentous event to our city.”
This event, along with the designation of Srinagar as a World Craft City, would not have been possible without the extraordinary efforts and pivotal role of Director of Handicrafts, Mehmood Ahmed Shah, whose unwavering commitment has been instrumental in securing this status for Srinagar, the statement added.
Organized in collaboration with the World Craft Council—a nonprofit organization devoted to the revival and rejuvenation of crafts worldwide—this celebration marks an important milestone for our artisans and cultural heritage. We invite artisans, craft enthusiasts, and visitors from across the globe to join us in celebrating Srinagar’s rich heritage, traditions, and age-old yet vibrant craftsmanship, the Foundation said.
