Srinagar, Aug 16: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has notified that it will announce the schedule for Assembly general elections today in New Delhi at 3 PM.
According to a press invitation for the press conference, a copy received by Ziraat Times, the announcement is with regard to the general elections in several states to be held in the next few months. While no specific mention has been made about Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, informed sources say the EC is likely to announce the poll schedule of Legislative Assembly polls for J&K UT also during the press conference.
Sources told a Srinagar based news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that there is evey likelihood that ECI will announce five phase polls in J&K starting from North Kashmir.
