PHDCCI Kashmir members visit Srinagar charity; commit support for vulnerable 

Srinagar: The PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir, led by Chairman A P Vicky Shaw, along with Co-Chairs Javaid Anim and Himayoun Wani, and other EC members, including Madina Mir, Shabir Abdullah, Er Owais Raja, Shahid Khan, and Deputy Director Iqbal Fayaz Jan, visited the Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) in Bemina today. The exposure visit was organized by Masooda Yasin, secretary of VMS.

The delegation was greeted by Dr. Mir Mohammad Maqbool, retired Professor & Head of the E.N.T Department at Government Medical College Srinagar, and Masooda Yasin, along with Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Margoob, Neuro-Psychiatrist, and Majid Ahmad Bala, Executive Member of VMS.

Founded by Dr. Mir Mohammad Maqbool with the support of a few doctors, VMS has been providing comprehensive rehabilitation services for over 50 years. The society offers services regardless of caste, color, creed, or religion for persons with disabilities. It includes a special school for children with mental, orthopedic, speech, vision, and hearing challenges, as well as dialysis and pharmacy services. The PHDCCI members were deeply moved by the exceptional work being done by VMS.

Chairman A P Vicky Shaw expressed his admiration for the visit and pledged full support to the commendable efforts of VMS. The PHDCCI team explored 18 verticals of the society and discussed how they could assist in the placement and livelihood of specially-abled individuals. The dedication of VMS staff and their robust social infrastructure is a testament to the vital and effective work being performed by the society.

The PHDCCI members purchased items made by skilled handicapped persons and placed orders for corporate gifts for ARCO group, with additional designed orders to follow. Shaw assured every kind of help to VMS through members and the welfare foundation to contribute towards the social cause. The members were overwhelmed by the significant work being done in the heart of the city and urged the business community to contribute to this unique facility created by noble souls.
