Pending govt bills to be cleared before Eid – senior official tells Ziraat Times

Ziraat Times Team Report

Srinagar – The pending or unpaid government bills shall be cleared before the upcoming Eid, a senior government official informed Ziraat Times on Thursday.

In this regard, the Sadder Treasury Srinagar has issued a notice to all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) operating under their jurisdiction with specific directions on how to settle the pending bills. The notice addresses certain bills that remain unpaid despite being projected on liability as of March 30th or 31st, 2023.

To rectify this issue, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) has implemented a solution on the jkpaysys.gov.in platform, the senior official said. DDOs can now regenerate these unpaid bills by logging into the checker section and navigating to the “Bill Processing” option labeled as ‘Lapsed Bills 2023-24’ or ‘Unpaid Bills 2023-24’.

The Sadder Treasury Srinagar has urged all DDOs to prioritize the regeneration of these bills as soon as budget allocation is received from the finance department. This prompt action will ensure timely payments and avoid further complications, the official added.

The Treasury has expressed appreciation for the DDOs’ cooperation and hard work in resolving this matter during a crunch time.
