Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCC&I) has expressed its grave concern over the erratic electric power supply crippling businesses and households across the valley.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, KCCI said despite promises of uninterrupted power with the installation of smart meters, consumers are facing extended outages, even during Ramadan.
“The tourism sector, a key driver of the Kashmiri economy, is worst hit with long power cuts, discouraging tourists and leading to booking cancellations”, KCCI said.
The KCC&I has urged Lt. Governor’s intervention to establish a fact-finding committee and address the power issues faced by residents, businesses critical sectors like healthcare and education, and the vital tourism industry.
