Decisive action required to prevent Batwara like tragedies: NTTA

Srinagar: As we grapple with the devastating Batwara accident, it is imperative that the government takes decisive action to prevent such tragedies in the future. Implementing strict laws and safety measures, Nigeen Tourist Traders Association (NTTA), chairman  Manzoor Wangnoo said while expressing profound grief and heartfelt condolences over the tragic incident of the boat capsizing in Gandbal, Batwara today.

The devastating accident has claimed several lives, including  school going children, leaving behind a trail of sorrow and mourning.

In light of this heart-wrenching tragedy, Chairman Wangnoo extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families, particularly those who have lost their loved ones. He also conveyed his sincere wishes for the swift recovery of the injured, hoping for their speedy healing and rehabilitation.

In a press statement to Ziraat Times, Wangnoo emphasized the crucial need for the administration to provide adequate compensation to the families of the deceased and the injured, acknowledging the immense loss and suffering they have endured.

Furthermore, Chairman Wangnoo called upon the administration to enforce strict safety measures and regulations for all boat owners and operators. Safety protocols must be diligently implemented and adhered to, ensuring the prevention of such tragic incidents in the future. Wangnoo fervently hopes that through collective efforts and vigilance, similar incidents can be averted, safeguarding the lives of citizens and preventing further tragedies.
