Zahoor Ahmad Bhat takes charge as Director, Horticulture Dept Kashmir

Srinagar: Veteran horticulture expert, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, assumed the role of Director of Horticulture Department, Kashmir today.

In a ceremony marking the transition, Bhat received the baton from outgoing director G.R. Mir.

Bhat brings over 24 years of experience to the position, having served in various capacities within the department. Notably, he held leadership roles as Chief Horticulture Officer in Kupwara and Baramulla, and most recently as Joint Director.

The ceremony also included a warm farewell to Mir, with heartfelt appreciation for his contributions. The team then welcomed Bhat, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the department to new heights through innovation and collaboration.

Bhat embarks on a new chapter, aiming to drive growth, sustainability, and prosperity for Kashmir’s horticulture sector. His tenure promises to be marked by excellence and a commitment to serving the people of Kashmir, his colleagues remarked.
