PHDCCI to host PackTech Asia 2024 & RBSM events in Jammu on March 21-23

Jammu – The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has announced the PackTech Asia Expo and Reverse Buyer Reseller Meet (RBSM), offering an  opportunity for North India’s packaging, printing, plastics, and food processing sector to connect with international buyers and witness cutting-edge solutions. The event, taking place at Regale Park, Greater Kailash, Jammu, will feature over 100 Indian companies showcasing the best in packaging, food processing, printing, and plastics.

Rahul Sahai, Chair of the Jammu Chapter of PHDCCI, while addressing a press conference in Jammu, emphasized the thriving nature of the Indian packaging industry, noting a remarkable 15% CAGR over the last five years, with a projected annual turnover of $32 billion by 2025. He underscored the global shift towards packaged goods due to the COVID-19 pandemic, creating a significant opportunity for the industry.

Given Jammu & Kashmir’s status as India’s leading fruit producer and the rising demand for convenience foods, Sahai highlighted the favorable demographic for the packaging sector, describing it as instrumental in transforming the region’s agriculture-based economy.

Mr. Sahai affirmed the central government’s special focus on J&K, positioning PackTech Asia 2024 as an initiative by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to support local industry. He detailed the comprehensive showcase promised at the event, featuring eco-friendly options, paperboard, corrugated boxes, rigid boxes, chipboard packaging, and poly bags with foil seals.

Naveen Seth, Deputy Secretary General of PHDCCI, highlighted crucial aspects of PackTech Asia 2024, emphasizing it as a platform for innovation in packaging, food processing, and plastics. Over 100 leading Indian companies will exhibit their latest technologies, machinery, and materials, catering to diverse industries such as food processing, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and more.

Seth outlined international business opportunities, with over 50 buyers from key markets actively seeking partnerships and sourcing solutions from Indian companies. He encouraged attendees to explore joint ventures, forge business linkages, appoint distributors and dealers, and secure export orders through one-on-one B2B meetings facilitated by PHDCCI.

Concurrent Events:

Concurrently with PackTech Asia 2024 and RBSM, The Great Himalayan Food Expo and Jammu Plast International Expo will also take place, focusing on various sectors, including packaging machines, coding and marking solutions, food production and processing equipment, and more.
