KCCI expresses concern over rampant power outages during Holy Ramzan

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has expressed  concern over the power outages in many parts of the valley, particularly during the holy month of Ramazan.

“The power shutdown causes tremendous difficulties to the consumers in day-to-day life, offering prayers and performing religious rituals. It is a known fact that this auspicious month is full of eventful days of Muslim faith”, KCCI said in a statement adding that the Governments of the day would ensure the regular and uninterrupted power supply during Ramazan.

“Since KPDCL has been entrusted with the power distribution scant respect is being shown to this auspicious month. The KCCI is astonished at this insensitive behaviour of the Department. It expects the Department to show empathy towards suffering people, more so, when large parts of the Valley have been connected with Cables and smart metres installed. The lesser said about the losses suffered by trading communities due to the power shutdown the better”, the apex chamber said in the  statement.

The KCCI calls upon the authorities to take immediate measures to address the power crisis, ensuring the well-being of the people and the sustained functioning of businesses in the Kashmir Valley.

KCCI also appeals to the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha, to take a review of the power outages and direct the KPDCL officials to take immediate measures to stop power shutdown, KCCI further said.
