Khunmoh Industrial Estate of Srinagar re-elects Imran Murtaza as President

Srinagar, Feb 3: Imran Murtaza has been elected as President of the Industrialists Association Khunmoh for second consecutive term.

The election of the second largest industrial estates in Kashmir was concluded on Saturday with declaration of victorious office bearers by the election commission. The other members of the Administrative Council declared elected include Zahoor Ahmad Malik (Senior Vice President), Shakeel Ahmad Kenu (Vice President), Sajad Ahmad Baba (General Secretary), Owais Aslam (Joint Secretary), Rouf Ahmad Mattoo (Secretary Finance) Mehraj-ud-Din (Secretary Publicity).  Abdul Wahid Chishti has been elected as Speaker of the organisation.

The elections to the prestigious association were smoothly conducted by an election commission headed by Manzoor Illahi with Abdul Rashid Lone and Bashir Ahmad as its other members.

Former President and Advisory Committee Member of FCIK Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and President I/E Shalteng Showkat Ahmad were present during the elections as observers.

The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes to Imran Murtaza and other office bearers on their victory in the elections. FCIK has hoped that the new body will not only contribute in the development of members of their estate, but as an affiliated association will also take up bigger role in the FCIK for collective prosperity of industrial fraternity.

The FCIK has urged upon all industrial associations in Jammu and Kashmir to undergo change and transformation to take up enhanced role for serving as incubators of innovation for industrial growth and development.

The Advisory Committee of FCIK has underscored the changed  role of associations to create collaborative environment for flourishing newer ideas and practices in the industry through knowledge sharing, research, and development, technological advancements, product innovation, and process improvement in order to contest and stand against stiff market competitions.

The Advisory Committee said that the evolving landscape and advancement of industrial development in the country envisaged for a bigger role for industrial associations and their apex organisations to stand as formidable pillars of support, fostering innovation, advocacy and collaboration more so in consideration of the backwardness and stagnant industrial growth in J&K caused for multiple reasons.

“All the industrial associations in Kashmir valley and FCIK as their coalescence have to shun the past miseries and move forward in fueling robust and thriving ecosystem in the industrial growth and development”, advised FCIK.

While exemplifying the significance and power of collective action, the Advisory Committee said that FCIK provided a strong platform to all democratically elected industrial associations for their collaboration and addressing common challenges after pooling their resources, sharing insights and collectively addressing problems that might be too complex to tackle and resolve at their individual level. They said that the collaborative approach was the only way forward to strengthen the industrial ecosystem for moving forward towards greater competitiveness and economic development.
