Srinagar, February 20: Jubilation has filled Kashmir’s fruit growing communities as news spread that the long-awaited rail link connecting the region to the rest of the country is nearing completion. The Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union today expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team for making this dream a reality.

The much-anticipated Banihal-Khari-Sumbar-Sangaldan railway line is set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister himself on February 20th.

“This marks a significant milestone, not just for public transportation but also for the valley’s fruit industry, which has long struggled with limited connectivity”, Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union said in a statement to Ziraat Times today.

“The introduction of this railway system will provide much-needed facilities for fruit growers and dealers like us,” said the Union’s spokesperson. “Transporting our produce to different parts of the country will become easier and more efficient, opening up new markets and boosting our income.”

The Union acknowledged the efforts of the Prime Minister and his team in prioritizing this project. “We believe the new rail link will not only benefit the fruit industry but also contribute to the overall economic development of the Kashmir Valley”, Bashir Ahmad Basheer, chairman of the Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union said.
