JKBOSE cancels exam forms of ineligible 11th, 12th class candidates

Ziraat Times Team Report

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has cancelled the examination forms of ineligible candidates who were registered for the class 11th and 12th annual regular examinations of 2024. A notification issued on 22nd February 2024, a copy of which has been received by Ziraat Times, states that the basis of this action is that some institutions filled the examination forms of ineligible candidates without verifying their eligibility.

According to a government order issued in 2017, students who are unsuccessful in the annual regular examinations are only allowed to provisionally continue their studies in the next class until the results of the subsequent bi-annual examination are declared. Those who fail the bi-annual exam are not allowed to continue their studies in the regular stream.

The JKBOSE notification states that a notification was issued in January 2024, which clearly instructed the heads of institutions to ensure that only eligible candidates who had qualified in all five compulsory subjects were allowed to register for the annual regular examinations of 2024. However, some institutions disregarded these instructions and submitted the examination forms of ineligible candidates as well.

The list of all ineligible candidates has been published on the official website of JKBOSE. These candidates will not be allowed to appear in the upcoming annual regular examinations. They can, however, appear in the bi-annual examinations of 2024 as private candidates or in the annual examinations of 2025 in the regular stream.

The JKBOSE has directed all heads of institutions to carefully scrutinize the eligibility of candidates before approving their examination forms in the future.
