Srinagar: A delegation from PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir, led by Syed Pervaiz Qalander, Bilal Kawoosa, Shabir Abdullah, and Iqbal Fayaz Jan, met Director Industries Kashmir Khalid Majeed on Tuesday to address pressing issues faced by the local industrial sector.
The meeting focused on critical areas like the new industrial policy, turnover incentives, marketing support for existing industries, industrial estates development, incentive validity under IDS, a sickness study of industries, Ganderbal’s New Textile Park, and awareness programs for startups and students, a press statement received by Ziraat Times said.
The PHD Chamber delegation highlighted challenges and opportunities within the industrial landscape, while Mr Majeed, known for his proactive approach, assured swift resolutions to procedural difficulties.
Discussions emphasized the need for a robust new industrial policy to encourage and support local industries, along with turnover incentives and marketing support for existing players to drive growth and competitiveness.
Modern and well-equipped industrial zones to attract investment and foster innovation were also a key focus, alongside a comprehensive study to identify and address the root causes of industry underperformance.
The meeting also explored the establishment of a New Textile Park at Ganderbal to boost the regional textile industry and create employment opportunities.
PHD Chamber, in collaboration with Director Industries, committed to organizing awareness programs in industrial estates, among startups, and students to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
