NLCO appreciates LCMA’s inclusive approach on Gilsar & Khushalsar Lakes Conservation

Srinagar, Dec 2: In a new  development for the preservation of Gilsar and Khushalsar lakes, the Nageen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO) core group engaged in a constructive meeting with Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, IRS VC LC&MA at the LC&MA Dockyard, Nishat today. The meeting, attended by Er. Rajinder K. Sharma, Superintending Engineer, Gulzar Ahmad, Secretary, and other LC&MA officers, unfolded fruitful discussions, a media statement received by Ziraat Times from  NLCO said.

NLCO’s core group members, including President Manzoor Wangnoo, Technical Advisors Er. Ajaz Rasool, Farooq Gillani IFS (retd.), Dr. Mushtaq Margoob, Zahoor Qari, Lateef Ahmad, M Shafi Boktoo, Riyaz Ahmad, and Nisar Ahmad, expressed gratitude to LC&MA for adopting an inclusive approach in the conservation efforts of Dal and Nigeen lakes.

The commitment exhibited by VC LC&MA and his team is commendable, fostering hope for the restoration and rejuvenation of Gilsar-Khushalsar. During the meeting, insights were shared, a memorandum presented, and assurance received from VC LC&MA regarding dedicated efforts, including the deployment of two machines for cleaning and dredging, the statement added.

NLCO extends heartfelt appreciation for the positive strides and looks forward to collaborative efforts ensuring the sustained beauty and health of our lakes. Together, united in the cause of lake conservation, we anticipate continued progress in our shared mission, the statement added.
