KAN’s Mentorship Initiative opens doors to funding opportunities for Kashmir startups

Srinagar: In a three-day mentorship initiative led by wellknown entrepreneur Prof. Sunil Handa, under the auspices of Kashmir Angel Network (KAN), the event concluded today at KAN’s Corporate office. Prof. Handa, a distinguished alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and founder of Ekalvya School, engaged with 24 startups from November 30 to December 2, contributing significantly to the growth of the valley’s startup ecosystem.

The exclusive sessions, characterized by 45-minute personalized interactions, proved instrumental for startups like Wildfloc, Cred Agro, Move Beyond, Falcon Frames, Green Techno Innovation, Kashmir Products Store, Elite Institute, The Pink Tree, Keepsake Box, Eco Therm Revolution, Baraqah Fashion, Pascon Solutions Pvt Ltd, and others. Prof. Handa’s wealth of experience not only offered insightful guidance but also facilitated crucial access to valuable network connections.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, startups emphasized the transformative nature of Prof. Handa’s mentorship. Ms. Khusboo, Co-founder of Elite Institute, remarked, “Prof. Handa’s session was a game-changer. His insights have given us a fresh perspective, and the motivation is palpable.” Another startup highlighted, “Prof. Handa’s mentorship is a beacon of inspiration. We leave the sessions not just with ideas but with the motivation to turn them into reality.”

Beyond guidance, the impact of this exclusive initiative extended to several early-stage startups securing financial support to propel their ventures forward. Prof. Handa’s mentorship not only addressed concerns but also opened doors to potential funding opportunities, marking a significant milestone for these budding enterprises, Shabir Handoo founder of KAN said.

This initiative underscores Kashmir Angel Network’s unwavering commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship and building a thriving startup ecosystem in the region, said Irtif Lone, another founding member of KAN, adding that the success of the event reflects positive strides made towards empowering local startups and aligns with the broader goal of fostering innovation and economic growth in J&K.
