Dr K S Risam, former VC SKUAST-Jammu, nominated as ICAR member

Srinagar, Aug 5: Former Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu,
Dr Kernel Singh Risam has been nominated as a member of the prestigious Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). He is the first citizen of J&K to be nominated as member of this prestigious committee toof ICAR the premier body governing agricultural research and education in the country, a press starement issued to Ziraat Times said.

Dr Risam in his tenure as Vice Chancellor, and in the capacity of Director Extension of SKUAST Jammu, has contributed a lot for development of agricultural education, research and extension and coordination with development departments for the welfare of farmers of the region. He had close linkage with farmers of Jammu Division.

According to an order in this regard, nomination of Dr Risam along with two others, as member of the ICAR Society has been made under `Commerce & Industry category” for a period of three years
The nomination of Dr Risam been made by the Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, who is President of the ICAR Society.
