CCIK delegation meets officials to discuss Srinagar beautification, tourism

Srinagar, Aug 17: A delegation from the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCIK) met with the Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Athar Amir Khan (IAS), to discuss the beautification of the city. The delegation, led by CCIK President Tariq Ghani, commended the Commissioner for his tireless efforts to beautify the city, including the recent inauguration of the magnificent “Ghanta Ghar” (Clock Tower).

The delegation also met with the Director of Industries and Handicrafts, Mahmood Ahmad Shah, to discuss issues related to handicrafts and industries. The delegation stressed the importance of renewing handicrafts, which represent Kashmir’s heritage and culture.

Finally, the delegation met with the Director of Tourism, Raja Yaqub, to discuss tourism-related issues. The delegation requested the Director to expedite the renewal of hotel registrations and to address the issue of tourist movement restrictions imposed in connection with the Amarnath Yatra.

In addition, CCIK President Tariq Ghani said that Kashmir’s pristine beauty and enchanting allure have captivated the hearts of travelers from around the world. He said that tourism has the power to bridge gaps between cultures and foster mutual respect and appreciation. He suggested celebrating a Grand Tourism Day to showcase Kashmir’s tourism potential and to promote the industry’s growth and sustainability.

The delegation’s meetings with the various officials were productive and the CCIK is confident that these discussions will lead to positive results for the city of Srinagar and for Kashmir’s tourism industry.
