KHARA-KHAROF Combine issues statement over ‘hotels overcharging guests’

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, July 25 – The KHARA-KHAROF Combine, an amalgam of Kashmir’s hotels and restaurants, has issued a statement saying that it has received reports regarding ‘certain hotels in the valley engaging in the practice of charging room rates that exceed the officially printed Tariff, which they themselves submitted to the Department of Tourism.’

In a media statement to Ziraat Times, KHARA-KHAROF Combine’s Publicity Secretary, Irfan Ahmad Bhat, emphasized that overcharging guests ‘not only harms the reputation of the hospitality industry but also directly impacts the credibility of the hotels involved.’

“The Department of Tourism relies on the accuracy of the Tariffs provided by hotels to ensure fair and transparent pricing for tourists,” said Irfan Ahmad Bhat. “When hotels deviate from these set rates and indulge in overcharging, it not only leads to dissatisfied customers but also undermines the trust of travelers in the entire hotel community.”

The KHARA-KHAROF Combine has urged all hoteliers to adhere strictly to the printed Tariffs filed with the Department of Tourism.
