Jammu, 27 July: EPFO, PHDCCI Jammu, and Dogra Law College jointly organized an Interactive Session & Awareness Program on EPFO Services and EPF & MP Act in Jammu.
The session commenced with Rizwan Uddin, PF Commissioner for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, as the Chief Guest, and Rahul Sahai, Chair of PHDCCI Jammu, as the Guest of Honor. Mr Rizwan expressed gratitude to PHDCCI Jammu Chapter and Dogra Law College for their collaboration in hosting this informative session. During his address, Mr Rizwan highlighted the significance of EPF for all employees, emphasizing that it serves as a crucial source of social security.
He elaborated on the benefits of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and patiently answered participants’ queries, even taking immediate action to resolve their concerns. Rizwan stressed the need for widespread awareness about EPF, as it can provide much-needed financial support during unexpected events. He assured participants that his office is always open to address grievances.
Rahul Sahai, Chair of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke about the event’s significance in promoting Indian industry, trade, and entrepreneurship. He underscored the importance of the EPF and MP Act, a vital labor legislation in India, designed to provide social security and financial stability to employees. Managed by the EPFO under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, the Act creates a safety net for employees during emergencies and fosters a savings culture for a secure retirement. Sahai emphasized that EPF is not just a tax-saving instrument but also a valuable benefit scheme for salaried individuals and their families. He outlined the various benefits of EPF for employees, including financial security, long-term savings, tax benefits, withdrawal options, interest earnings, and social security. Additionally, he highlighted the advantages of EPF for employers, such as employee attraction and retention, tax savings, a motivated workforce, contributing to employee welfare, reduced payroll burden, compliance with labor laws, and a positive corporate image.
Bipin Kumar, District Nodal Officer of EPFO Jammu, delivered a comprehensive presentation on EPFO Services and Schemes during the session.
Samardev Singh Charak, Co-Chair of PHDCCI Jammu and Secretary of Dogra Educational Trust, expressed his pleasure in hosting the event and commended Mr Rizwan’s enthusiasm for sharing knowledge. He assured attendees that such programs would be regularly organized to benefit both employees and employers. He extended his gratitude to Mr Rizwan and Rahul Sahai for hosting the program and pledged full support.
The session, moderated by Parema Bakshi, Lecturer at Dogra Law College, received participation from representatives of various industrial units, law students, and faculty members from Dogra Law College. Dr Darshana Sharma, Director of Dogra Group of Colleges, Dr Avdhesh Pratap, Principal of Dogra Law College, and Amarpreet Singh, Resident Officer of PHDCCI Jammu, were also present during the session.
