GST Week: PHDCCI Jammu Chapter to collaborate with State Taxes Dept

Jammu, June 29 — Rahul Sahai, Chair of the PHDCCI Jammu Chapter, met with Namrita Dogra, Additional Commissioner of State Taxes, Jammu, to discuss the upcoming GST Week to be organised in Jammu & kashmir.

The State Taxes Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is celebrating GST Week from July 1 to 7. The department has invited the PHDCCI Jammu Chapter to be a part of the event.

Ms. Dogra shared the details of the events planned for the week. On July 1, a panel discussion is planned, and Mr. Sahai has been invited to participate as a panelist.

During the meeting, Mr. Sahai shared several points related to GST that could be taken up during the panel discussion. He also suggested that the trader community is not aware of the GST rules and that there is a need to create awareness among them.

Samar Dev Charak, Co-Chair of the PHDCCI Jammu Chapter, said that there is a need to train the users of the department’s online system.

Mr. Sahai said that flyers should be created to share important points with the trading and industrial community, such as the need for all dealers to submit their own mobile number in the online GST portal, how to change and update the mobile number in the system, and other important points.

Ms. Dogra appreciated the suggestions given by Mr. Sahai and Mr. Charak and said that all steps will be taken to create awareness. She also requested the support and cooperation of the PHDCCI Jammu Chapter to make GST Week a success.
